Mentors at Fort Funston

The Fellow Feathers Hang Gliding Club would like to help new pilots fly Fort Funston and other local sites.

If you have never flown Fort Funston and/or are a new H3, you will need a personal intro by an experienced senior pilot to fly there. Please contact any of the pilots on the list and set up a date and time. Items covered by the mentor will be:

  1. Site rules
  2. Site boundaries, launches and landing areas
  3. Weather, wind and rotors
  4. Launch techniques suited to the glider you fly
  5. Soaring technique and etiquette
  6. Landing altitudes, approaches and spots
  7. Sticker and waiver
  8. And many other useful topics
