Welcome, pilots!
Fort Funston is one of the best places on the planet to hang glide. Consistently flyable winds year round, easy access from all over the SF Bay Area, a variety of challenging and rewarding weather conditions, convenient top landing, and the near-mythical Funston Convergence make it an all-around favorite.
Before you fly, you must join the Fellow Feathers, have a current USHPA membership, and a H3 rating or higher. Please read our site guidelines to familiarize yourself with the launch and LZ and get an in-person briefing from a local pilot or instructor.

With its steady west winds, Fort Funston is consistently flyable from March through September. We also enjoy pre- and post-frontal days through the winter.
